The judges look for local stories told well, a title close to its readers and journalism that keeps the community informed.
Eligibility
Open to local newspapers in print, online or both, based in or serving the region. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.

- Readership and reach
- Service to the community and the strength of the title as a business

- Clarity of vision and offer
- Reputation with clients, readers or listeners
- The team behind the work

- Notable work or coverage
Additional criteria
Include links to the work, figures for the last one to two years where possible and a word from a client, reader or listener.
